Courses & Formats

The American Heart Association offers both formats — and both result in the same official AHA certification card.

Instructor-Led is the traditional classroom experience with hands-on practice throughout and real-time instructor feedback. It's the best fit for first-time students or anyone who prefers in-person learning.

Blended Learning (HeartCode®) lets you complete the online portion at your own pace, then attend a shorter in-person skills session. Ideal for busy professionals and most renewal students — maximum scheduling flexibility.

I currently offer Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Heartsaver CPR/AED, and Heartsaver First Aid.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is coming soon — I'm completing my PALS Instructor certification and will announce availability once it's confirmed.

Approximate times for initial provider courses:

  • BLS Provider (instructor-led): 4 hours of video instruction + same-day in-person skills check-off
  • ACLS Provider (instructor-led): 8–9 hours of video instruction + same-day in-person skills check-off

Renewal courses are shorter — BLS Renewal runs 2–4 hours; ACLS Renewal follows the same instructor-led format. Skills check-offs for blended learning students take 30–45 minutes (BLS) or 30–60 minutes (ACLS). Actual times vary by class size and participant experience.

Our training facility is CPR Training School. All courses are conducted under American Heart Association Training Center guidelines and standards.

Certification & Exams

Yes. Upon successful completion, every student receives an official American Heart Association eCard — the same credential recognized by hospitals, clinics, and employers nationwide.

That's a fair question — and one I take seriously. The American Heart Association actively audits its instructors, and they have found discrepancies with some instructors that put those instructors' licenses at risk. More importantly, it affects the healthcare providers those instructors checked off — meaning certifications that may not hold up to scrutiny when it matters most.

I strive to follow every AHA standard to the letter. That means your certification is legitimate, defensible, and issued by an instructor whose credentials are in good standing. You're not just paying for a card — you're paying for a certification that will hold up when your employer, your hospital, or a licensing board looks at it.

My pricing also reflects:

  • Official AHA course materials and certification processing
  • Skills testing and instructor evaluation conducted to AHA standards
  • Equipment, manikins, AED trainers, and training supplies
  • Course preparation and administrative support
  • Official AHA eCard issued upon successful completion

Your official AHA eCard is typically issued within 24 hours of successful course completion. Many students receive it the same day.

All American Heart Association certifications are valid for 2 years from the date of course completion.

Yes. AHA courses include knowledge assessments and skills evaluations that must be successfully completed to earn certification.

If you don't pass, additional coaching and remediation opportunities may be available. Contact me directly to discuss retesting options — the goal is to get you certified, not to turn you away.

Students should be proficient in BLS skills and meet any prerequisites required by the AHA and their employer before enrolling in ACLS.

Logistics & Policies

Please bring:

  • Government-issued photo ID
  • Current certification card (if renewing)
  • HeartCode completion certificate (blended learning students only)
  • Pen and notepad (optional)

Wear comfortable clothing — CPR training involves kneeling, bending, and performing chest compressions on manikins.

Pricing varies by course type, class format, and group size. Visit the Classes page for current rates. For group or on-site training, contact me for a customized quote.
